Pathetic

I don't know when the word pathetic lost its original meaning, but it did. Was there once a time when it meant a deep feeling, when it evoked a kind of sadness which can barely be described with words. The power of magic (a power that just Hollywood has) changed the meaning even in Spanish. And we have no longer been allowed to be pathetic, to be losers in a lost world. At least, for a while, let's listen this desperate cry and pretend that pathetic can be what once it was.
